Exhaust Routing Questions

Starting on doing some exhaust work on my C10. I have a 350 V8 with the Ram Horn manifolds, as well as the stock 3 speed crossmember and stock clutch linkage. I also have a mini starter.

Anyone have any pictures of their exhaust routing? The pipe is currently a 2 inch, I will be enlarging it to a 3 inch pipe before the muffler.

What do you guys recommend? If you can recall a list of what you needed to order that will help too. Hoping to keep all my pipes mandrel bent.

Re: Exhaust Routing Questions

Are you running 2" pipes off the manifolds, and dumping into a 3" pipe where they join? Why not just run dual 2" the whole way? How hot are you building the engine?

Re: Exhaust Routing Questions

I have dual 2" all the way back to behind the rear wheels and have not really noticed a change in power form when I got it from my dad. He had dual glass packs with pipes in front of the rear wheels. I didn't like the sound so I had regular mufflers installed with dumps in front of the rear axle. Got tire of the noise (Im getting old I guess) and had tail pipes put on. Really like the sound now and still runs strong. BTW stock 350 automatic.

Re: Exhaust Routing Questions

3 inch exhaust is more for the very high performance. Using ram horn manifolds with 3 inch pipe isn't going to do much of any thing. I have 3inch pipe for my modified 454 and it was apita to route the pipe up and over the rear end with the panard bar and around my Blazer gas tank. Just letting you know what your getting into with that size exhaust. It's your truck.
