painted in primer

well i finially got rid of the crappy blue paint that was sprayed by the PO and decided to have fun with it at the same time instead of just painting it all one color and did some lettering and took a shot at pinstriping for the first time aswell, i also painted the floorboard which makes it alot better than it used to be and also painted the firewall and underside of the hood which also made it look much better than before with no more overspray from when the PO painted it

heres a couple before pics

last, i dechromed the bumpers, welded the bolts to them, shaved the outer bolt holes and license plate holes on the front and then clear coated them to prevent rust

While primer looks good for a while, it is more of a PITA than its worth, cleaning it is the worst, dirt, bird crap, water streaks, all kinds of things, then it starts fading and looking chalky, all in all its not that great of an idea for a daily, trust me I experienced it myself.

Except they spelled the first word wrong haha. It is spelled with a K not an H.

You like it, thats all that matters. I kinda think its alright, but I'm a little off from what others like sometimes. I like the pinstripes too. You did a good job, I think.

I was wondering when you were gonna throw up pics of the ol' girl Oxided, since I saw them on your 'space.

I dig it, I won't lie. When I painted my truck in a hurry, it was so tempting just to leave it in red oxide primer.

And like others have said, if you like it, that's all that matters.

I, personally, think it's bad ass. and the pinstriping adds a sweet touch.

Re: painted in primer

i like it. I think it will look pretty cool here in a few years when the primer fades because it will have a true patina look

I do love the primer look just like others said it's a pain to maintain if your going with that look satin paints the only way to go. i also love the pinstripes i only wish i was able to do something like that!
