92 dually question

2 Attachment(s)
Thinking about buying this truck but would like to know about common problems if any. Its a 92 with 108k on the clock. Seems like a pretty nice truck and for some reason the 90s trucks are looking better every day. lol The guy wants 4200 for it but will probably come down because everyone wants 4x4 in my area. He has a lowering kit for it and some other stuff. Clear coat is going bad but no rust.

Nice looking dually. I agree that I think this gen is probably one of the best looking trucks on the road.

Clean appearing truck. Lowering kit value depends on manufacturer; some are better vs. others. With an interior in that good of shape, the price you listed doesn't seem bad @ all.

Cash in hand could negotiate is down a bit if there are others available. If it's the only one within a 1-2hr drive.... Well the negotiating turns in the sellers favor.

There are a couple others but this one not being a 4x4 turns people off in this area. For me its a plus because I already have a 4wd and would lower this within 3 seconds of getting it home. lol It has just over 100k on it so I'm guessing thats why its so nice. I'll wait a few more weeks and if he still has it I'll offer 3500 and see what happens. I already have a 65 swb, a 89 swb a 05 Ranger a 04 Colorado and a Hyundai so I dont NEED another truck but I dont have a dually so maybe I do NEED another. lol

Makes sense to me

I didn't need one either. But when an opportunity came that meant no out of pocket expense (other than a title transfer) but yielded a 1-ton vs. my old 1/2 ton swb for pulling C10's around on an 18' car hauler; it made sense.

What came after is where it wasn't free/cheap

The OBS HD trucks do ride better IMO vs their predecessors.

Looks like a nice one!

No real specific 1 ton problem areas I can think of. It probably has an early 4L80E and some of those had problems the first couple of years as GM worked the bugs out. Rear suspension is quite stiff. A little harder to move along come selling time. Price seems good and value should never go down in the future. Looks like aftermarket wheels maybe Alcoa"s that can be a plus too.

I've been wanting a 2wd OBS dually myself.
