can I use a standard auto column with an ls swap?
1 Attachment(s)
My truck came as a three on the tree. That was all removed for painting. I picked up a standard auto column a while back. Is this easy to retrofit into the cab and connect up with the standard ps box? I installed a normal 68 power steering box using a write up here on the forums. All I had to do was dent in the frame a bit and it went right in. I plan to use the ls power steering pump to feed the ps and the hydraboost from the 2000 truck i took it out of. Pic of my steering column attached.

Oh, and I'll need to somehow get this to shift my 4l80e

It should bolt right up. I used the Lokar lingage for my 4L80e. There are some fitting differences between OE and Metric on the hydro boost and your stock steering gear, but you can find a lot of threads on this. I ended up having the hoses made for mine at my local machine shop.

There’s info on the hydroboost swap in post 161 in the build thread for my 72 K20 linked in my signature. I used a hydraboost from an 09 or so Chevy 2500HD.

YES |
Re: can I use a standard auto column with an ls swap?
If you use the later square body steering box, it will have the same fittings as your pump and hydroboost. 82ish should work.

I bought 6an fittings and adapters along with black braided SS hose of the entertainment and made my own a lot less money
