6.2L Tune Up
 

My 2012 Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2L and AFM is at 97,000 miles. Apparently it's time for plugs and wires. Any input on what is the best option here? I have been looking on Amazon at my options, mainly because it's easy.

What does everyone recommend? At this point she's bone stock.

I see the Edelbrock 22716 Ultra Spark 50 wire set for $69. Are those worth it or just stay with AC Delco?

What about plugs? I planned on AC Delco on that, unless another better option. I don't know if stick with Platinum or Iridium? I think they came platinum, but I'm not sure.

Any other other 100,000 basics to do? All fluids have been changed, except for coolant flush, which I might do when she goes in for next service or airbag recall.

Also, while on the discussion I have a small stutter on my 03 burb with the 5.3L flex. Its been 50,000 since plugs and wires on her, so going to do them as well. Same question on the Platinum or Iridium on it or other option.....I think same plug.

In the T900 use Iridium AC Delco spark plugs
In the T800 use Platinum AC Delco spark plugs
There's a TSB from Delco about this. I believe I posted it in my 2005 Silverado thread.

Use Delphi or AC Delco wires. They got you to 97K. The Delphi replacement plug wires I put on my 2005 2500HD at 87K had the exact same markings as the original factory wires and I expect they will last just as long.

Change out the air filter with a new FRAM or Delco paper element if it's been more than 25K or you don't know. The T800 trucks can use the HD Dirtymax filters with deeper pleats in all of the V8 air filter housings. I'm not sure about the T900 trucks.

Change the power steering fluid, brake fluid, axle(s) fluid, transfer case fluid, Dexron VI transmission fluid & WIX strainer, engine oil & filter, and flush the cooling system & refill with 50:50 Dexcool premix. Most folks overlook power steering and brake fluids and they get really nasty.

Make sure you replace the 200°F flexible square refrigerator magnet in the transmission pan with the round magnets that are rated for 300-350°F temps. There's a TSB for this as well but I can't find it at the moment. The proper magnet is the same part as the Allison 1000 transmission behind the 8.1L & Dirtymax uses between the spin on filter and the transmission. Part # 29535617.
