Wheel Vintigues bought out?
For many years now Wheel Vintigues manufactured and sold Chevy truck rallyes in 6,8 & 10" widths, 5 or 6 lugs. These were available through Summit, Jeg's and others.
Now skimming through my latest Summit catalog I see Coker brand on these rallye wheels. In looking for 15x8 5 lug truck rallye it says 15x8 are no longer available in 5 lug. They do have 10" width in 5 lug and a 15x8 in 6 lug but that is all. Not complete info on this wheel but by the part number it appears to be a 15x8 with 4" back space. Doesn't say 5 or 6 lug though the image shows 5 lug. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...=true#overview Has WV sold out some of it's wheel lines? $197 each. Oh and ship date of March sometime. |

I had not heard of it. Thanks.

Re: Wheel Vintigues bought out?
From Wheel Vintiques' beginning I wondered if they might be connected to Coker in some way. Coker was the first dealer offering them long before Summit, the only source I knew for years. I guess just a prime dealer until now.
I'm surprised they would drop such a popular wheel/size/lug pattern. Doesn't make sense. I wonder if supply issues played into this. I sure have heard of backorders on different wheels at different times, and before this Covid 19 stuff came into play. Just guessing |
Re: Wheel Vintigues bought out?
Well Coker sure is proud of their wheels and tires. Nothing new there. But I'm not about to pay $200 and more per wheel for a naked rallye rim.
The 15x8 6 lug rallye is $267 each. |

I've not heard of PS engineering either. Bigger fish buying up smaller ones is nothing unusual. Look at Holley and all those brands.

I recently bought a set of stock steel rims from uswheel thru jegs...had to wait 2 months for them,, |

I smell a rat with these slow shippers. I bought a metal sign from Russia and a light switch cover from Pennsylvania on the same day a couple of weeks ago. I already got the sign and the switch plate is still in Pennsylvania. How can it be faster to ship something from Russia than from Pittsburgh? |
Re: Wheel Vintigues bought out?
Sign from Russia! Can we see it?

Dude, did you geiger counter that thing? Rumor has it that that's one of the "new" signs, haha.
That thing's cool looking. |
Re: Wheel Vintigues bought out?
I've had some 82 series on order since April, keep getting push out.
|
Re: Wheel Vintigues bought out?
When I bought my 82 series maybe five years ago they were on backorder. Jegs did a really smart thing and put them on sale. Made it worth the wait, which I don't recall it being so long. I believe they were around $500 list for a set and I got the set for about $375, like getting one for free. Smart for them and smart for me. I could wait and I am sure they had a heap sold before receiving them, rather than many turning away due to unavailability. I'm sure they made plenty of money in a short time that way, even at a deep discount
