No spark on cylinder NO. 2??
So ever since I put a newer motor in my truck it's been a turd. I know that stock 350s are huge powerhouses, but it was bad enough I needed to check it out. So I pulled my plugs and saw that my number two cylinder was fouled up and wet. Voila, I found the right cylinder. I didn't have the tools to check compression so I tested for spark first and there isn't one. What could be causing this? I'm asking because I am running a Pertronix Ignitor II distributor, and I don't have much experience with them. I know all my wires, plugs and coil are good. Does anyone have thoughts on what could be the problem within the distributor?

Its either the plug wire or dist cap.

Timing light will tell you the culprit.

You can also hold the plug against a grounded surface and see if it sparks when cranking. If it does, then a compression check, or better yet, a leak down test would tell you if it's burnt valve, rings or valve guide fouling the plug. I've also found more new defective spark plugs recently than I recall ever having. |
