p-10 disk brake advice

I am researching to do a disk brake conversion on my 69 p-10 and have come across a few questions.

None of the kits I find say they will work on a p-10 but my understanding is it is the same chassis etc. as the c-10 so the parts should be interchangeable. Is this true?

Also some of the kits say will not work with stock wheels. Do I need to take this in to consideration when I buy a kit? I am running the stock 6 lug steel wheels.

Another problem I am trying to address. There is no room for power brake booster of any kind because so is the disk brake conversion going to help? should I plan for disk all the way around or just do the dick front and drum rear.

Thanks Shane

would this work??

I also have heard the C10 and P10 share the same chassis. DISC/Drum would be better, but drum/drum could also work if maintained properly.

I will look into that system thanks for the post.

I have done my best to keep up with the drum brake system. I have to replace the brake shoes every 6 months. I get the drums turned if it needs it. When I got the truck the prior owner had rigged together the front and most of the Automatic adjusting parts were missing. I've tried rebuilding both front drums several times but they alway wind up locking up on the passenger side. I just figured disk brakes were the next step. The truck is really heavy when fully loaded with ice cream etc. plus my wife has a lead foot.

My 1967 Chevy truck manual states that the same independent suspension is used on the P-10 as is used on the conventional C-10-20-30 trucks. If that is also true in 1969, you should be OK with a disc brake kit for a C-10. Call a supplier (like CPP) and talk to them first. I just completed the installation of a disc brake kit from CPP, and was pleased how nice it all went together, as well as the tech help at CPP.
