The kid who had mine did a horrible job and it took me 2 hours to get this one in there. I redid the wiring mess with removible connections and had to file, grind the metal hackery to get it to fit. He cut it crooked so it will always e crooked......... But now I got tune age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well got some new lugnuts on her today topped off the Tcase, greased it all up, resealed the front diff, new plug wires and spark plugs.

they killed me on the lug nuts at 36.00 but now no more stupid metal caps and now I can change to my spare on the side of the road if the need ever arises. Also hauled the old shetmeatl off to scrap and made.... $9.00 dollars.

Yeah, I gotta agree with SB 400. I live in Maine and if the back roads don't kill a vehicle then the garbage they throw on the rods does. LOTS of the trucks in N.E. are so rusty & rotted...

That's one reason why I bought a truck from Georgia. Very little surface rust from the rain over the years, no rot what so ever... never saw snow, ice or salt. Good luck with your build! :mm:

Witch hangers did you buy? When i go to lift my k5 i am probably going to order alot of parts from these guys.

I will say i love this truck, and have since the day you bought it. I should have bought a 76 shortbed 4x4 for 200, but man that thing was rough, made this look pretty. I was just gonna trial rig it, needed a transfer case, lots of body work and such, and i didnt really have the space to take on that rig at the time.

Yours rig is an auto with the 203 case right? Any plans to lift it, or keeping it stock height and such?

I ordered the front hangers because mine where rotted out. Those are the front spring hangers for the rear leaf springs if that makes any sence........ they would go here

Thanks alot for the kind words. I went with DIY4x for the shackle flip to lift the rear. Cheaper then ORD and the stuff is top notch. The welds are great and I am very happy. Also opted for the cross tied 4 inch shackles instead of the standard ones. I do like ORD's set up too. Also picked up a frame with a 4 inch lift. gonna use the front on mine and resell the frame and rear to help offset some of the cost. Also got ORD's front shackles to help keep my lift springs from hitting the frame and bending stuff up.

Here is a link to Kert's stuff

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

Is the longer shackle supposed to make it ride better, or is it just more lift?

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

I like the hood. It makes it look kinda like a chevy Sport. Are you going to keep the black wagon wheels or run the ralleis?
