Hazard Switch broke off!

Hello,

I have a 1969 GMC 2wd 2500
The red hazard switch sticking out of the steering column broke clean off. I lost the piece so there's no hope in super gluing. I found another thread on this that mentioned a reproduction that includes the whole wiring assembly and it would cost me around $60 to get it to Canada. Yikes. Are there any other options for me to fix the flasher. I am ok if it does not look original. I just want to have it operational again.
There is picture of the part on this thread if you scroll down,

I did search through Classic Heartbeat and GMCPaul's. No Luck

If you became a Premium Member you could post a Want To Buy - and there is a chance someone would give you one for free.

Another option is find a Salvage Yard that still has these trucks for parts.

Good Luck.

Try your local parts store , still available from standard , part number tw24 , shouldn't be that hard to get.

A turn signal switch is around $35 bucks The flasher [hazard] thingy is on the side of the turn signal switch you your gonna have to change it. UNLESS, you go to a pull it type yard or know somebody that has some old stuff laying around, the later model trucks and cars from the general had a black knob with a plastic bezel and a spring and screw. Maybe you could take one of those off a newer column and get a longer screw if needed at the hardware store and screw the newer type knob on to the older type switch. Does that make any sense to you? I grabbed one off eBay I think (because eBay has pictures - hello Vendors) cheap when I broke mine. They're still pretty much a commodity item, probably because they're so easy to break off!

All right. I'll call the parts store and have a look on ebay for an original. If not I'll justhave to pick up the whole turn signal assembly. Thank you everyone
