Some Assembly Required

well this my new truck i bought a few weeks ago. It's a 68 body on a 71 1/2 ton frame with a 70 drive train. It's got a 402 TH400 and a 12 bolt. nothing is bolted down core support bed hood, brake lines need to be hooked up and i'm missing shift linkage for the trany. i have a new windshield and an unmolested wireing harness. the body is in great shape the only rust is in the two rear cab supports but it's not bad at all and then the rocker of course. well enough babble here it is. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...4/DSCN0410.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...4/DSCN0413.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...4/DSCN0412.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...4/DSCN0414.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...4/DSCN0417.jpg

Re: Some Assembly Required

thanks for under a G, i think it wasn't a bad deal i wish the motor was in better shape and i could use it. i really just want to get it running and on the road. like most of us i'm on less than a shoe string budget so i qwant to address all mechanical features rebuild power steering, Brakes suspension... then i want to do the truck arm conversion and a 5-7 ECE drop. as you know life has a way of changing plans so for now i want it to be safe and reliable

Re: Some Assembly Required

well yersterday was alot of firsts for me i pulled my first motor and disasembled it. In the process i trashed the crank, i was useing the harmonic balancer puller and didn't use the point that goes in to the crank and wiped out the the threads. I've never used a pulled before and learned a very important lesson. So i'm going the see if it's possable to redrill and retap the threads for a bigger bolt but i'm not holding my breath. Any one in eastern oregon have a 396 crank LOL. also when i was pulling out my motor i noticed my heater box had some cracks in it does any one know how i can repair those? thanks
