AC leaking
Hi all. I haven't been here in years, so it's great to post something again!
The last two summers I've had to get my refrigerant topped up in the Blazer. Obviously its leaking out somewhere, but it's not obvious to me from where lol. Is there a common area I should be looking like the compressor seal maybe? thanks in advance, and it's great to be back here! |
Re: AC leaking
How old is your compressor? Common leaks are the compressor seal and anywhere there's an O-ring.

Also hose connections or crimps.
This is way auto guys use dye. This way when it leaks you cam use a black light to find the actual leak. I do commercial, and we use it to prove a coil is bad. |
Re: AC leaking
Forgot to add, but you maybe able to see oil in the area the leak is.

Re: AC leaking
Thanks for the replies! I’ll start looking for these clues. Pretty sure the compressor is original.

Re: AC leaking
What refrigerant are you using? If it's 134A, it will always leak because that system is not designed for it. 12A is a better choice for retrofits.
