Spending a saturday confused, anyone else?

How's everyone's Saturday going? Football, detailing your truck, cruising in the sun ( California guys)? I'm at work rewiring my truck :( dies last night and now I'm knee deep in confusion. Post some inspirational things you guys are doing today.

Here's the thread in the electrical for those who are smarter than I

Just repaired the dash and underhood wiring for a customer on a 1994 K2500 that was a theft recovery and found abandoned for almost a year. Pack rats kinda had their way with the interior a bit, and removed about 15 mud wasps nest(none occupied at least)
First attempt-everything works great. Got some cosmetic things to repair next and kick it out the door on Monday afternoon.

It's Miller time!!

Well I started on my cluster rebuild after following theastronaut's thread. Everything was going good until I got to replacing the warning light lenses. Some were missing to begin with. Someone had gone through it at one time.
Anyway, on the rebuild thread it says you can get some translucent sheets at any hobby store. I "raped" the heck out of two stores and no dice. The weather here is high 60's and I spent most of the day looking. So I figured I'll wait till Monday, might find something at work.
Well I decide to walk to the corner store down the street to load up the ice chest for tonight. Across from it is a dollar store and decide, why not. What do you know? They had small spiral pocket notepads with green and red clear translucent covers, sweet!! The store clerk looked at me like if I had never seen such a thing. I told him I had gone everywhere looking for this. He rolled his eyes and says, "we also sell pencils".
....and that's how you I spent this beautiful Saturday!!!

No sun today Newfisher, at least here in Nor Cal, waiting for rain if it ever gets here, picked up a Excalibur, 3ton engine hoist last night for $150 for anticipated engine transplant here in the near future.

Spent Saturday underneath the truck installing my new column shift linkage getting rid of the nightmare the PO owner came up with. I didn't like the 5/16" all thread the kit came with so I sleeved it with some 3/8" stainless steel tubing. All thread stainless tubing and 2 stainless jamb nuts weigh less than 16 OZ. It took me forever fine tuning the linkage to get the indicator pointer dead center of the P R N D 2 1 icons. I replaced the leaking shift shaft seal on the trans while I was at it and I still found a small quarter size puddle under the trans this morning. Grrrrr, I hate leaks! Guess I'm going to have to pull the trans pan and remove the shift shaft and make sure it's completely free of nicks & burs.

well i saved $400, by using my old harness and repairing what the PO did and making it look oem. i was gonna get all new wiring, but since i did most of the work on my build. i said why not the wiring. i just traced all the wires and added the right color and gauge. i used my build book (the bible) and followed a few threads. looks factory, now install and have it "working" is a different story...

We used the wiring harness and the fuse block from our donor 91 suburban when we rebuilt my 66 GMC. Bought the wiring diagrams for the 91 and the 66 so we could adapt the dash and heater to the new wiring harness. The color codes on the wiring were the same on the 66 as the 91. Pretty nice for GM to be that consistent for such a long time......made the rewire much easier.

Slept in Sat morning 'till 11:30 am then had lunch, watched TV, had dinner. Did I mention it was a dark and rainy day ? :(

Boy I'd never get anything done if I was in Oregon. :)

We need to start a State of Jefferson NOR CAL SO OR club. Maybe we can meet at the Texas Roadhouse. I am in the Rogue Valley with my running 66 and parts 64 and rolling 63.
