Crussh Sleeve Eliminator Kit

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/yga-55046

I've never rebuilt a 12 bolt rear end and I'm thinking of giving it a try.
Have any of you folks used the above crush sleeve eliminator?
Does it work?
Does it make the job better, easier?

Thanks

I use them a lot when I'm building a diff for a 'wheeler'. Unless you are running a high output engine and romping on it hard, the sleeve will do you just fine unless you really want or need the spacer. It does make it convenient if or when you need to replace the pinion seal and worry about getting the same amount of preload

Thanks KWMECH.
In the Summit reviews someone wrote " This is a good alternative for the individual who hasn't the means to torque a pinion nut to 300-400 foot pounds to properly crush a crush sleeve and set pinion bearing pre-load"
Is that true? If so that would be great for me because I'll be doing the job alone on my back in the garage. Which kinda scares me with the truck on jack stands.

Yeah some of them can become quite a bugger to get crushed but the vibration of the impact helps along with some lube between the washer and the nut and lightly oiled threads. So yeah I could see the advantage there, especially if you have a sacrificial nut to use for the set up while figuring out the shims. Once you get the preload you want then use the pinch nut with a few drops of locktite to finalize it.

Thanks, I'm gonna switch over to a truetrac so, I figure I might as well do a full service on the rear end. Still trying to read all I can and convince myself I can easily do it and save some money.

I've been known to do a little "pre crush" on the 12 bolt sleeves in the press

I did eliminator kit on my 12 bolt . I figure dana did shims for years and years so why no convert for less b/s in service later .

The kit worked great for me. I lightly sanded the end of the spacer on a flat surface to get my final preload. I don't like crush sleeves.
