Anyone running newer wheels on their Cat Eye?

My dad is 82. He's got a 2003 Silverado that he's going to give to me and I want to update the wheels on it. I saw pictures on the net of a white '03 with wheels off of a '14 LTZ. His was a 2WD truck. It looked awesome. If I can find the picture again, I'm gonna post it.

The guy didn't say if he had to do any mods before or if they just bolted on. He also didn't say if the new wheels were 18" or 20".

Dad's truck is a 2WD truck. Does anyone know the specs of which newer model Silverado wheels would bolt right on to it. I do not want to do any modifications.........just bolt the new ones on.

Thanks. GTT

I had time and found out that the '03 has a bolt pattern of 6x139.7 or 6x5.5 and so do the 2014 & up Tahoes and Silverados. '03 has 16" wheels and the '14 Tahoes had 18" & 20".

Wheel Diameter: 18″

Wheel Width: 8.5″

Bolt Pattern: 6×5.5″

Offset: 24

2015 Chevy 18 inch OEM Wheels should fit the following 6 lug bolt pattern vehicles:
( please verify from your own sources – guide only)
  • Avalanche/Escalade/Denali 1500– all years
  • Sierra/Silverado 1500– 1999-2015 2WD & 4WD, 1988-1998 4WD only
  • Yukon/Suburban/Tahoe 1500– 2000-2015 2WD & 4WD, 1992-1999 4WD only

I did that, but painted parts of them black for a little something different. It changed the whole look of the truck - I like 'em.

Here’s the truck. I got out and washed & waxed it today. I think some new wheels would set it off. I still can’t believe that some 16” Cragars or American Racing wheels aren’t available. Sad.

I was hoping for some Ansen Sprints or Torq Thrusts or something along that line. I don't think they make em for the 16" Chevy Trucks that year model.

I do like the looks of the original white truck I posted a picture of. I think I'm gonna go that route.

I'm running 2018 rims and tires that a fellow took off right away for his upgrade to 20's. Mine are on my 06.
