Flexplate/Tranny Question

1 Attachment(s)
Ok, I'm trying to keep things moving forward. I mocked up my flexplate and was wanting to confirm that I have to make the holes in the GM 12621399 flexplate kit longer/bigger. The holes I am referring to are circled in red. Do I just drill those wider? Also, how much did I screw myself; I took my old engine out and had my transmission jacked up. Long story short, the the tranny slipped and fell forward and that is why it is so far away from the firewall. I tried to push it back into place, but can't seem to get it to budge. I didn't give it a great amount of effort because I didn't want to mess anything up. Can I just push it back into place or am I totally screwed? Thanks for any help.

Re: Flexplate/Tranny Question

Flexplate looks like you need to enlarge the holes.

Trans must just be caught on something. Yolk still in the trans or did it slip out?

Re: Flexplate/Tranny Question

It's still together. I See a little "new" metal on the drive shaft frOm where it slipped forward, but I just didn't give it a lot of effort pushing it forward because I didn't know if I was screwing up. I will make the holes bigger then, thanks!
