gm power steering flow control M2 rack questions
1 Attachment(s)
i have 51 GMC M2 sbc power steering original steering wheel. i installed 2 shims to reduce pressure.
The truck drives great. however with the mechanical advantage of the giant steering wheel and the mis matched pressure/volume it is OVER SENSITIVE. has anyone used the "turn one" flow control valve? it supposedly reduced VOLUME from 3 gpm to 1.3? |
Re: gm power steering flow control M2 rack questions
My Turn One pump has one installed to reduce the flow down to 2 gpm. Works fine with a GM Type 2 pump.

Re: gm power steering flow control M2 rack questions
Are you still using the original front straight axle? A friend had this issue and the valve helped but when he put in 6-7 degree caster shims in that helped a lot. I'm using my original front axle and don't have an issue, but I'm using electric power steering and you can adjust how much assist you want.

More caster will add steering effort and feedback and help it track better. What are your current alignment specs?
