Wood grain issue

Need some help for a friend. He bought the Cluster bezel, glove box door and door inserts but all are different color and grain. Has anyone had this issue and what was the fix. Trying to stay always from the cabinet sticky paper fix. Thanks much in advance for the help

Well, there's the ''Welcome to Wilbur's Wild World of Wacky Woods'' approach. Your friend has a head start there. Or find some actual wood luan [1/4'' phillipine mahogany plywood] in a grain /stain you like and cut out the pieces and overlay them on the various plastic panels and glue down. May be thinner real wood veneers out there too.

Thanks for the idea sir. Adding wood would leave edges exposed. I’ve seen plenty of wood grain build and can recall them all having mismatched interior pieces. Be nice if one vendor made all pieces

If you want to go with the real wood look, go to Rocklers and get some veneer. It is paper thin.

The only fix I know of is to order it all from the Truck Shop so it all matches.

Its not a perfect match to the original, but there is at least enough to make all pieces the same:

Thank you all for the input. At this time we’re going for the hydro dipped method. I’ll post photos once done . Finger crossed

I bought this for my tailgate and cut it. I bought the tailgate band from The Truck Shop maybe 5 years ago and it was already bubbling and cracking. Truck always parks in the shop or garage too. This is 3M, we'll see if it last.I bought a 15" X 72" roll. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I can't find anything currently but I'll keep looking. They may not do them anymore. The stuff on their site is just what every other parts place is selling now.

I just looked on ebay and saw several people selling 3M automotive wood grain. See if you can find a paint supplier that sells 3M products.

It doesn't look like this stuff matches either. The glove box applique looks darker than the bezel. It seems to be a common thing with the aftermarket ones.

I used veneer on my interior pieces, using the same stain and grain as my wood bed.. turned out very cool
