I cleaned nearly every thing with Purple Power, water, soft bristle scrub brush, rag and elbow grease. It was amazing how well it cleaned, just don't leave it on too long before washing off with water.
I used Duplicolor Chrysler Silver Met. on the water pump, a/c, pulleys, tranny and accessories.
I used the high heat Duplicolor primer on the engine and then ordered Corvette Torch Red in a aerosol can, then finished up with high heat clear gloss for the shiny.
I used Rustoleam Industrial Semi-Gloss black on the metal parts and gloss black paint made specifically for plastics...I will get the name and edit later.
I used a flat black high heat for the exhaust manifolds, can't remember the name...maybe VHT or something like that.
All of the paint was bought off the shelf from O'Reilly with the exception of the Torch Red which they ordered for me and had the next day.

Gotta be careful witht the GM colors special order spray cans, the paint flows reeeal thin. Better to take your time with multiple coats to avoid runs. IMHO

Here's mine. It's only mocked up at this point but it will be an LS2/Tremec RS500 when it's done.

Mine, 68 C20 with 2005 5.3 and 4l60e. I think the truck intake is pretty, with its makeup on. It does its job just fine, so its not getting changed. HartRod, your building a nice collection of 67-72's. Like this one too.

Its a flush and fill tee, that I drilled a hole in and forced a barbed hose fitting through and jb welded to seal it to the cap. I can take the cap on and off the tee, hose is held on with FI hose clamp. This goes in one of the heater hoses up high on the inner fender. Works good for cheap fix.

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

my radiator had a extended fitting (out about 1.5-1.75in) on my 4 core radiator on the rad cap side, just above (or below, can't remember) the top trans cooler line. I opened it up and when I shine a light into the hole I can see it on the front side of the radiator so its going straight into the main portion of the radiator and not the trans cooler. It took a 1/4" NPT fitting as I recall. Anyway...my steam vent line is now plumbed to the radiator at a point higher then the fittings exit from the motor.

and fyi....on the LS2 in our TrailBlazer SS, the steam line attaches to the radiator line as yours does...though it is to a T in a metal pipe, like an a/c hose...thats well below the steam vents exit near valley pan level.

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

That is the same place i put mine. Also the same place the 07 chevy Z71 4x4 i used to drive for work put the steam line right from the factory.

What is that billet piece behind the throttle body and where did you get it. The motor I have has an open hole right there and I need to get that piece.

I haven't started one yet, but plan on it soon. I purchased the project from another boardmember who had done most of the work to it. I plan on pulling it back apart and finishing the chassis and then putting it back on the road.
