When I did a bobber, I cut the rivets for the spring hangers, centered the axle under the wheel opening in the bed, and bolted the new hangers in place. Then used a band saw to cut the frame hanging out the back to the desired length.

I saw a couple of YouTube videos where a guy did it that way. Very fascinating how he did the measuring and drilling.

That's very clean work. Other than your, uh, windshield lettering, I think many non-truck people would look at it and assume it's something you could have gotten from the factory. What motor and transmission does it have?

You should be able to bring home a couple of sacks of concrete and a few two-by-fours from the Home Depot without much trouble with that power combo.

I knew someone who had one of these about 25-30 years ago. I always wondered what it would look like if the rear dually fenders were lowered down to match the front fenders.

I've got an idea for another way of doing it, but it would be even more work.

Swap the cab for a pickup cab, so it can set down deeper on the chassis. The bed and front clip would be lowered to match. The radiator, transmission, and possibly the engine could be an issue.

The rear fenders are sectioned and lengthened to properly clear the rear wheel diameter.

The front fenders are fabricated out of rear dually fenders mounted at the same height, and also sectioned to clear the front wheel diameter.

I was thinking similar, but opposite.... maybe use a modified front fender to replace the dually fender, thought is to "bring down" the rear fender area of the bed., but to not detract... the truck overall is very cool!! and a nice build. :metal:
