Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Captin,
Do you make a plate for a 68 or 69 c10!? Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
You do not need an adapter plate for those years. Your frame should already have the 4 holes in the correct location, and the frame should be contoured so you can just bolt up a power steering box. That is unless yours happens to be different than the ones I have worked on here.

The current box only has 3 bolts mounting it, but there is a fourth at the top of the frame at the rear. Guess that saves me 1 more step. Sorry I couldn't drum up more business for ya but thanks for the input. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Is the 73-87 power steering box for a c20 the same as for a c10?
thanks |
Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Yes the steering box is the same for C10, C20 and C30.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
If I'm looking for a 2wd power steering box for my 65, what years newer than 73-87 can I use? or is 87 the last year that works with the 60-66 trucks?

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
The compatable power steering boxes are from '68-'87 for the C10, C20 and C30 pickups, Suburbans and 2wd K5 Blazers. The only newer boxes that will work would be from the '88-'91 R1500, R2500 Crewcabs, Suburbans, and possibly Blazers. I just don't know for sure if there were any 2wd Blazers in those years.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Help me out here. I've been searching for the best solution for brakes and steering and keep winding up looking at John's cool stuff! I've got a '67 C10 with a front disc conversion. I for sure want to do PS/PB and use the Hydra-Boost set up. Problem is, I've got the 292 L6, which I'll have to run until I can fund the small block swap, probably next winter. Seems that pump brackets for this in-line engine are rare and expensive. Anyone fab a pump mount for this?

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Cap
Please pm ordering info for a ps mount bracket. Thanks, Mark |
Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
On a '67 you shouldn't need this power steering adapter plate. The '67's I've seen/worked on, just need four 1/4" spacers. As for the 292 PS pump brackets, there was an ebay seller that was making some nice ones.
