Bump ..... Thank you John, for a nice product
Here is a shot of a 75 impala booster and master mounted on Captainfab's mount bracket.. Worked out slick!
I used a S-10 bracket from mid 80s as it sat the combination valve squarely and directly under the master. The ears of the bracket were extended 1" to give more bending room for the lines between the master and the combination valve.

Attachment 570206 (that is the choke cable laying up across the booster)oops-- the bracket had not been painted yet either ...

Hey Captain what powerbooster/master cynl would I need for my 66 1/2 ton c10, is your bracket set up so that with a certain combo the push rod and everything will line up right w/out fab'in the push rod or drilling holes?

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

The vacuum boosters that will work with my booster brackets are listed in post #1. As for what master cylinder, that depends on what brake setup you are running. Do you have drums/drums, disc/drums or disc/disc's. My brackets are a direct bolt on to the firewall, no holes to drill. You will however need to lengthen the booster pushrod to reach the brake pedal arm.

Hey CaptinFab,
I just gathered all the brakes off of an 80 2 wheel drive suburban do you know if your bracket would fit this power booster? thanks.

Captainfab 09-14-2010 11:35 PM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

No the '73-'87 pickup,Suburban and Blazer boosters will not work with my bracket. It is not needed with those boosters as they have brackets riveted to the booster. To use that booster you will have to drill some holes in your firewall.

My booster brackets work with the boosters listed at the beginning of this thread, and bolt to your firewall using existing holes. This is also a cleaner looking installation IMO.

"Boosters with this pattern are commonly found on S10's and full size pickups, Suburbans, Blazers and Tahoes from 1988 to at least 1998."

I see this statement and have some Q's.

1. So I take it I need a booster from these years? Also, a master cylinder from any of these years and applications?

2. The only other thing needed for this installation (besides your bracket) is to couple the rods together?

3. Dumb question but where does the vaccum hose coming from the booster attach to on the engine?

Then I'd just have to run my brake lines and then Ill have power brakes?

I'm sending you a PM about your power steering bracket we talked about in the other thread yesterday.

You do not have to use the master that came on the booster you are going to use. Most GM dual reservior master cylinders will bolt up. I would recommend using one that is close in application to what you are using the rest of the braking system from

That and a proportioning valve, and run your brake lines.

You will need to connect it to manifiold vacuum on your engine. Where that may be depends on what engine you are running

You will have to bleed the brake system, then yes you should have power brakes.

My buddy gave me a booster/master off the shelf from an old order that was never picked up....

Just noticed it a three bolt mounting.

Not even sure what it was designed for, gonna run the number.

Looks like I'm going to have to fab something else ...

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

That's wierd. I've not seen one with 3 mounting studs on it. Looks like it has a universal pushrod on it....just threaded with a jamb nut.
