Found some nice wheels and tires on Craigslist. Anyone had tire /rims shipped lately? Any guesstimits on the price of UPS shipping each?

No guestimates needed, all shippers have calculators right on their sites. You'll need dimensions and weight info. You don't need boxes with the tires on there, just have the shipper protect the wheels with carboard and tape it well, label right on the tire.

You maybe at the point of using a pallet.

UPS gets chargy when items are big, and odd shaped. Something like 70 pounds, and they add big surcharges. Due to back injuries.

A few times I cannonballed to Reno to pick stuff up from Summit because shipping, and crate charges were alot more expensive then the trip. Plus where I would of had to go to get the parts was annoying for me. Due to terminal locations, and hours I could go with my job.

Out of curiosity where are the parts in relationship to your place

Sometimes shipping stuff by Greyhound bus is the best deal. I once sent a truck roof to another member here that way. They put in the cargo hold in California, it took a few days and he picked it up at the station near his home.

I've used this a few times, cheaper but you have to go to the station to pick up the item(s).

Thanks for the replys. Looking at Greyhound to get these here. I've used the cannonball plenty of times, just depends on how far and what it is.

There’s no tracking with greyhound. They lost a set of wheels for five months.

fastenal near you? https://www.fastenal.com/en/22/blue-lane-freight

I would also try standard freight companies or a freight broker.. yellow, abf, etc. or even fedex freight, etc.

cubes and weight is all that matters to them :)

residential package delivery services aren't usually the best route for palletized freight

good luck!
