On-board air from 6bt/12V

Has anyone put a compressor on a 6bt from a bigger series truck(air brakes) on 67-72 Chevy truck for on-board air? I'm curious to know if anyone knows how to do this.

Never done it but looked into it. Basically you can get one off a F700 with air brakes and bolt it on. Most of the compressors are a bolt on where the vacuum pump is. I cant remember the application for the PS pump off the rear but it should be easy to find in a Bendix catalog. It can be easily done with factory parts and can be done several ways which allows making it fit a lot easier. Cummins even has a kit available for the water cooled models. It replaces the freeze plug just below the head on the back of the block. This is a good mod if the motor is modded as the water pump can actually force that plug out. It sucks when it happens too. That sucker is over 2"s and can flow antifreeze really quick!

Ryanroo put one on his 72 K20 project. You can probably pick his brain about the PS pump and pressures.
