Old sayings or sayings from old folks

I was working on my fence hammering some nails today and it made me think of something my grandpa said along time ago. We were building my folks new house and he was watching me work and said " You hammer like lighting, you never hit same place twice."

Dumm'erna snot bubble..

One from my dad, My sister "Betty" was a big gal, but that didnt stopher from trying to wear little gal clothes, she figured it she could get it on, it fit. Well one summer she came to our house wearing a tiny ill fitting sun dress, to which my dad commented. "Too much Betty, not enough dress". I still use that one quite often here in our lovely little community,

Bowed up like a cutworm.

If I was to get any tighter I'd wring off at the waist.

I'm so dadgum quick, when I go to bed I can cut off the light at the door and be in the bed before the room gets dark.

Dad to me or one of my 3 brothers-
Do I need to light a fire under your azz!
I'm gonna jerk a knot in your butt!
I just don't know about that boy!
Then line us all up and say-Which one of you is the "Other one" that did it?
And,after we had used some of his tools-"Everytime I need to work on something,I have to mow the grass to find my tools!
He really said these things!Very often!
