Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Thanks for all the encouragement guys.... like I said, I finally got to epoxy prime the damn cab... now I can sand that down nice and smooth and shoot it with a coat of 2K primer to see where I'm at after I start blocking.
I also ordered all my paint supplies, 2 gallons of color, and clear. I hope to get the front fenders epoxy primed this week, then i'll drag the bed out, and tackle that thing. I think I'll do the doors last because I need to take all the glass, the regulators, all that crap out... but all is looking well so far, slowly but surely coming along.
My totally stainless bolt sets shipped today, can't wait to start hanging stuff, and my new rear will be here in a couple of weeks... talk about a happy camper :metal:

well i'm kind of torn... i was looking thru Kirker's color book, and the Black Diamond 2 stage line has some nice colors. The truck was Midnight Blue from the factory. Kirker has a real nice blue called Bright Cobalt Blue Metallic, very nice in the sunlight. I bought 2 gallons of that, and 2 gallons of their best clear coat. I also bought 2 gallons of their HotRod black, so I don't know yet what exactly i'm going to do.
Kyle over at Kirker said, If I want to go from Hot Rod black, all I need to do is scuff it up with 300 and spray it with color.

So i'm not sure If i'm going with color on the body, some flat black on the hood for stripes, or all flat black... hopefully i'll know when I have all the truck blocked down so it's ready to paint. I sure do like the flat black though :metal:

I've done plenty of sanding, cussing, and hitting for sure! Just got to do the rest of it. Haha yeah I have a sweat jar already, well actually a sweat floor and PLENTY of beer

Going to try and pick up a wire wheel this week though I have to find one that'll fit a drill though.

there is about a pencil width of clearance between the lip of the rim and the lower control arm. I need to get the tire on there, and lower it and get some weight on it, a motor like the one pictured weighs about 620 pounds or so, so I won't know exact clearance issues until I get all the weight in it from the 455,

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Coming along well! What back spacing is on the rims? All you need now is the rear, hope you get that soon.
