suburban models...????????

does anyone know where to get a model of a 67-72 suburban? I would really like one to practice different paint jobs on!

Thats really not my thing, but would try a hobby store or e-bay. Your basic Fred Meyer, WalMart etc have models and you could check there. You might get lucky.

I don't think the Suburban or panel has been produced in a plastic or resin model kit. I know they made blazers & pickups & that Jimmy Flinstone offers a blazer body with a chopped top. Modelhaus has a lot of replacement parts for the 67-72 kit's and promo's but I have never seen a sub model.

If you find any, let me know!!!

'67 Panel Truck

I bought a die cast 1/25th scale '67 Chevy Panel truck last year. It's got a blue/white US post office paint job, but submerging the metal body in a quart of brake fluid for 48 hours would soften up the paint enough to rub it off with an old tooth brush. Then youcan prime and paint it what ever you want. It's also 1/25th not 1/24th so there is a noticeable scale difference. Enough for me to nix my plan to cannibalize the '67 front grille for my AMT GMC '72 stepside, and shift the GMC grille to my Wix '69 Blazer to make it into a Jimmy.
But it's still a neat model. Has opening barn doors and front doors. With a lot of work a master modeler could add a 3rd door and side windows to make a proper sub. I don't have the time, myself, but it would be fun. SpecCast stock #87021.

Do you have any pics of the SpecCast Panel? I went to the Liberty Classics site & I can't find it on there...

I would be interested in converting one to a Sub for sure....:D

Thanks!

I don't have a digicam, sorry. Maybe Liberty is out of production on them? An e mail ther costs nothing,
I lost the file memory of the guy I bought it from, but I did buy it off this board.
