Should be no problem. Still a few weeks out on delivery of the first production run.

Collecting interest on reproducing the correct 69-72 Blazer spare tire carrier bolt, GM 3991023 per GM catalogs. These were a unique length (6-7/8”) and fine thread (7/16-20) carriage bolt that would accept a lug nut. I have a bid from a US bolt manufacturer to produce these, and now need your feedback on deciding how many to have produced - especially since there are 73-up versions out there that are not correct but work for 69-72 so people use them. Price point to make a minimum run will be around $45 shipped but the price will get better if I can make a larger order, so let’s hear from you!

Pics of an NOS bolt are below.

Also thanks to 1rippen6 for help with the NOS example!

Ha! That's my bolt, hand and kitchen island counter tile.

Sorry Chris, didn’t mean to use your pic without permission or credit.
1rippen6 gave me many pics and dimensions from his NOS bolt for the reproduction but the pic I used to start this thread was one I also thought was his. But, I was wrong...

Re: Reproduction spare tire carrier bolts

Update for everyone, I’m told the bolts will be shipped to me from the manufacturer early next week. I still need a week for plating, then should be able to start taking real orders around May 15th.
Thanks everyone for your interest and support!
Randy

No problem at all. Glad you were able to get the info you needed to have them reproduced.

Ugh! The manufacturer made an error and put a head marking on the bolts, even though my drawing was clear on the no head marking requirement. I’m refusing the product and they are remaking them. So we are still 3-4 weeks out. Thanks for your patience, mine is certainly being tested! :drama:

Any movement on this yet?

I heard from the manufacturer today, actually. They said they are shipping the second round of bolts to the platers Mon-Tue of next week. Frustrating delays for sure but trying to keep my eyes on the prize.
Thanks,
Randy
