I wasn't looking for another truck....

I don't know if some of you saw this on E-bay but when I did I just had to have it. I probably paid to much but I am excited none the less. I am going to pick it up this weekend.

johnnyp 06-04-2002 02:45 PM

Beautiful, original looking 68. Looks like you just drove it off the showroom (except maybe the sliding rear window). Give us the details or post the ebay addy. Please tell me you're not going to chop/shave/slam this beauty!!!

oldiron 06-04-2002 02:46 PM

Looks like a clean truck. Can't wait to see it. Congrats to ya.:D

imaindianoutlaw 06-04-2002 03:22 PM

ya I saw that one very clean and h as a 6 in it!

breeh 06-04-2002 04:45 PM

That is a funny comment on the please don't chop, lower, etc.! The real beauty of this truck is that all that I have to do is fix the interior and I am done.

breeh, thank's for posting the ebay listing. I don't think you paid too much. I've seen 'em in much worse condition than this one for more money. Let us know more after you pick it up.

I was watching (and drooling over) that auction too but just for the fun of it. Congrats on your purchase. That's a really nice 68. I don't think the price is too far out of line either.

barn9 06-04-2002 05:44 PM

Well, I might as well put my 2 cents in, YA DONE GOOD!!!! Nice find at a decent price. Keep us posted on what you decide to do with it. Oh, and by the way, have someone take a pic of that big grin on your face when you get it! :bowtie:

71402BB 06-04-2002 07:55 PM

Cool! Looks great! I've always loved the look of a stock looking 67-72 4x4. I don't think you payed to much either, over here in the Northeast that would be an awsome deal!

breeh 06-04-2002 08:57 PM

Thanks for the reinforcement on my decision to buy the truck. I will show this thread to my wife and maybe she won't be so ticked anymore:mad:

junkyardjohn 06-05-2002 11:13 AM

NICE TRUCK -- LOOKS LIKE A BARGAIN PRICE TO ME. IT'S AWFUL EASY TO DUMP (I MEAN INVEST) 8 OR 10 GRAND IN ONE OF THESE TRUCKS, TO MAKE THEM PRESENTABLE & DEPENDABLE NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE.:bowtie:

DennyB 06-05-2002 11:20 AM

WOW...A short, step, 4X4 like that...........You Stole it!!!!~!!:D :D :D :D
BTW, you will never loose money on that truck! Its value will only increase.
(edit)
Do yourself a favor, Get it appraised and insure it for its value. This will also protect you incase something awful happens.

2nova2 06-05-2002 11:44 AM

I am not a huge fan of stepsides but the short bed 4X4 Step looks sweet to me. I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the tires. You got a good deal there.

cheyenne10 06-05-2002 12:16 PM

I saw this auction and I'm sure I recognize this truck (local to me). Sellers feedback had too many negatives for me (looks like dealer/reseller). I think this truck sat in yard of long time owner with little use for about 10 years. It was driven some and finally disappeared 1-2 years ago. Truck lived in neighborhood of lots of big deciduous trees (watch vents for clogging and buildup of leaves, etc.) I liked it as an original truck hope you get the truck with value as you assume. With these types of things get good email communications is a must. If you decide to loose the 6 cylinder let me know. Anything else I can do drop me a line.

breeh 06-05-2002 12:45 PM

cheyenne10, thanks for the background. I was concerned about the negative feedback also. I decided that I wouldn't pay for it until I get down there and look at it. If it turns out to not be as advertised then I will not complete the auction. I would rather risk the negative feedback then lay out $5 k for something that is not as advertised.

Randy70C-10 06-05-2002 12:57 PM

I wouldn't worry "too" much about those neg. feedbacks. The problem with selling older vehicles is everyone expects more out of the car than it really is. You just can't make everyone happy. Besides, 7 neg feedbacks out of almost 500 isn't all that bad. Good luck though, I hope she's as mint as the pic looks!
