Gas Gauge

Okay-here's an easy one. I installed a gas tank from a '70 Suburban in my '62 one ton duallie. Is the sender going to play nice with my gas gauge,or did GM change the (resistance?-impedance?) somewhere between those years? I've heard from a parts man here that it might be different, but I was told by a "Chevy Guru" that they didn't change it until '72/'73. I guess I could just try it-worst it could do is burn up the gauge or sender, and I'm not that sure either one of them is on very solid ground anyway.

You won't have any problem just trying it. If you have an Ohm meter measure the resistance. Pull the sender move it to the full position and check, do the same on the other.

It changes. I had to buy a unit for a 63, because the 72 would not read accurately.
