a good word for summit racing

well i placed an order a few days ago for some wilwood stuff for my explorer, and it was 2 calipers, 2 rotors and brake pads, well to make a long story short, they sent me the wrong pads even though the guy kept saying that it would work with the calipers that i got. well it gets here today and hte pads are way wrong, the pads are suppose to be vette sized and it came lookin like spot caliper size, well i call em up very angered but in a polite manner, and the guy took care of it, said they would be here in two days and that they were gonna eat the $25 difference between the pads and ship the pads back at their cost, and they had also thrown in some free schwag in the box like a hat and some stickers . so good words for summit racing even though good words are not really needed with a company like summit

They are good people. I had an order that I was expecting on a Monday not show up. The tracking info showed it was on the brown truck out for delivery but it didn't arrive. Tuesday the tracking showed it had been delivered and they got a signature from someone I never heard of. I don't know where they took it. There was a substitute driver on that day. The regular guy is used to coming here. I called Summit and they filed a claim with U** and I got a replacement order on Wednesday. No waiting to see if U** found it or anything. Can't beat that.

I use Jegs all the time. Jegs has free 1 or 2 day shipping. Good customer service. They also price match.

I have never used Jegs either. It isn't that I have anything against them it's just that I'm used to Summit. One or 2 days to receive the order is the norm with them too, at least where I live. They each do offer things that the other's don't so a Jegs order may be in the future. AFR heads comes to mind here.

Here is a tip for ordering parts from Summit that are not in the catalog. Go to the product's own site, like Moroso for exmple, and find the item you want. Now go to Summit and use the Shop By Brand feature. Summit uses the manufacturer's own part numbers but adds their own prefix. For example the ever popular small block 7 qt. oil pan is Moroso part number 20190. Summit adds their prefix of MOR- to that making the Summit number MOR-20190. Enter that in the search box and it will pop up. I have het to find anything that I have searched like this that Summit does not stock.

You can also go to the Shop By Brand section and just browse down through the listings. It will take longer but you will also find a lot of things you didn't know that you needed and that aren't in the catalog.

I used Jegs because I had the catalog handy. I think that both Jegs and Summit prices are about the same.

Yeah, Jeg's and Summit are usually only pennies difference from each other, if not the same price. I have used Summit since about 1987, they have never let me down yet! Plus, my Summit card works at ExxonMobil stations, so I use it for road trips to buy gas.
