HELP! Cant Decide on Wheel/Tire Size

I am building a bagged blazer wth a 4 link rear and rack/pinion up front. I am trying to decide if I should go 18/18 or 18/20 on wheels. Pics of yours would be great; please list what wheel/tire combo you are using. Most of the 20s I have seen on these trucks look wierd, tuff to tell because most pics don't tell what sizes. I am going intro pentias Im pretty sure.:new:

not one of your choices, but I would go 20/20. I think the different size wheels look wierd IMO.

I like em staggered, but I think you will be disappointed if you put 18s on it.

go 20s/22s!

Re: HELP! Cant Decide on Wheel/Tire Size

staggered should be saved for the width. Different rim sizes do look weird to me. A guy in town had 20/18's and it looked silly. He didnt like it either and Im pretty sure he changed it. I don't know how low you want to go but I like the larger side walls. Im running a 275 45 20 tire on mine but if you want to drop it down alot youll have to go smaller.

Re: HELP! Cant Decide on Wheel/Tire Size

The only way staggered looks ok is when the truck is layed completely out. I'd go with 20's all the way around, with a 255/35/20 tire. Set up your ride height so that the tires are sitting flush with the fender lips, and you're rockin'. Just my opinion though.

Re: HELP! Cant Decide on Wheel/Tire Size

18's and 20's are the only way to go for me. I'm going to run 255/55/18 on the front and 305/50/20 on the rear (some mods required for those big bastards). I love the look, and want some sidewall protecting those expensive rims! 255/35/20's wouldn't protect the rims at all from the potholes around here.

But that's just an opinion... and we all know what those are like.

Go with what you want. Find a pic of what you think looks good, and post it. I'm sure we can give you a good idea of what they're running.

I like the same diameter all around but sometimes overall tire height dictates the staggered combos.....

Re: HELP! Cant Decide on Wheel/Tire Size

It’s all personal taste when it comes to the height of a vehicle and its wheels….
I personally like 20” on the 67-72 and the next one I build will run 20/22’s just
To be a little different

The wheels and tires on my red 68 are 255/40x20 on the front with a 20x8 ½ inch wheel (5 ¾ backspacing) and on the rear I run 295/40x20 on a 20x10 with 4 ¾ backspacing.

Actually I drive it just a little lower than that......but it's close.

Re: HELP! Cant Decide on Wheel/Tire Size

What tire size would you guys recommend for a 18 x 8.5 all the way around?

Would like a little bit of stagger, but unsure how much for a stepside on bags.

18x8 w/5.25"BS 245-45-18's
20x10 w/5.0"BS 295-40-20's

The BS on the rear wheels is actually 6.0" but I use a 1" billet adapter that changes the bolt pattern & puts the BS to optimum for the truck. The wheels are actually sized for an early GM muscle-car.

18x8 w/4.5 BS and 255/45/18 up front. 20x10 w/5.0 BS -275/40/20 out back. Soon to be 20's all around.

Ive got a 18/20 combo and don't care for it. Liked it at first, but now I cant stand the look. I will for sure get 20's for the front and possibly 22's for the back, but the 18's just look too small for my taste.

My 18's are for sale. Anyone?

They're 22" Coys which makes them 22x9's (they only come in that one size) & most likely wear a 305-40-22.

Scoti nailed it. 305/40/22 on 22x9 with 5.5" BS and they did required tub work to fit. The right offset/drop might get away with it but Coys stopped offering 5" BS on the 22's and I had to go with 5.5. Truthfully, 5.25" would probably have been ideal, but the 5.5 works well after making room. Front are 20x8.5 w/5.25" BS and 255/45/20's.

I almost went with 20/20 but was infuenced by this board to step up to 20/22 and have no regrets :)
