what do ya'll use when spots of clearcoat go to heck. My car seems to not have been waxed much by the PO. So there are spots in the paint that are crackly and white. We discussed buffing and compounding and hope'n for the best. But I'm curious if any of yall have used anything that might make it look better for the time being.

the car looks good, cept the few spots that are buggin me badly.

Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done. If you buff it out, it will only make the clear thinner than what it already is. It will shine for a while, but it's going to look even worse later.

What you are seeing is the clearcoat failing. The UV rays have done their damage and the only way to repair it is repaint.

N2TRUX is right. I had a black 1994 Camaro that had the exact same symptom on the driver side door. Was like that from the PO as well.

The best thing you can do is wax it with some of the Turtle Wax color wax and it will kind of brighten it up a bit and turn the chalky white spots colored, and then, when it wears off, you are back where you started.

I dealt with it for 7 years. It was still a blast to drive though. Gotta love a 4th Gen. Camaro DD.

I have to say that trailer you have there is made by a good company. Big Tex makes great trailers. I have been to the factory in Texas when I use to sell trailers. Also good looking car and would be worth a good paint job. Make sure they use a really good clear on it. The cheaper clears just do not last as long.
