FYI Covan's Not Worth The Money!!!

I bought a covan's guage insert for the 67 and the fit on these things suck. None of the screw holes line up and the wiper and light holes are about 1/8" off on each side. I am going to keep it since I already bought the guages but I would not put one in anything that was show worthy. Just a heads up guys:(

same experience here too. even after predrilling everything for stress relief the gauge panel has still managed to crack up i'm assumeing due to temperature cycling. i plan on replacing it with one from a feller here on the board. can't remember his handle but he's created quite a buzz lately about his machined pieces. -steve

The one I bought for the 68 several years ago also had the mounting holes all out of whack.

I would recommend buying one of Hubbards. He sent me one to photograph for TRUCK BUILDER and it is beautiful.

I had the same issues with mine and called Covans and come to find out some of the 1st ones that were made were wrong, he was more than willing to send me a new one to make it right. Got the new one and everything fit perfectly, holes lined up. I would give them a call like I did and express your dissatisfaction and they should make it right.

that's the critter i have too. same ultra lite gauges too. mines been in for 2 years, but started cracking 6 months after install. too late for me?? i should have jumped on this when i first started noticed the problem starting. i doubt they would replace this one, i would understand if they didn't since i procrastinated on it. we'll see. -steve

mine's been in for about a year and so far no problems to speak of, no cracks or fading .

I called them and they are sending me another one. I will let you guys know if it fits any better. She said that it may have cooled too quick and it was a little short, we will see.

Sounds like it's time to change the mold. I bought one in 2005 for my '71 and had the same fitment issues. Plenty of time to get these things worked out!
