My 72 project turn to get some loving.
My truck has been sittin alot lately in the weather, and I tried to keep it covered but it was tough. I had some bare metal work not primed, some primed and not protected and no glass in the entire truck with a late model seat in there. Tried as I may I couldnt keep it covered so a few things will need more attention but nothing major I see so far.
I have a few things to finish moving from my generous large 26x30 garage and have my room back to have a permanent place for the truck chassis and cab until i get ready for the bed. Right now 25 % of one side wall is covered with wood, appliances and tools for a kitchen remodel and will soon be taken elsewhere because the garage needs its organized room back. I prepared the truck last nite to be moved around, and cleaned the bed out of the parts accumulating in there so my sons and nephew could help lift the bed off and place on a few items to keep it off the ground waiting its turn for attention. I have NO glass right now,but the shop I worked at a few years back I believe still has the back glass and side glass still in their rafters I can still go get. I want to get one piece side glass and am studying up on the options. I want to finish my 4" cowl scoop graft to the stock steel one,and finish the lower frt bedside that has been worked so many times it has stretched badly.......a cut in replacement patch will fix it. I have metal in the shop to make a few tools to help like a cab roller so I can do floor work easier, and I have 4 roll around wheel casters for the fram eto ride around on. Here are pics from yesterday in preparing it for its turn in the garage here very soon. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7222.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7219.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7221.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7220.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7227.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7226.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/1new7212.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...cs/1new725.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...cs/1new726.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...cs/1new723.jpg |

You guy have lit a fire that cant be put out. I have damn near visited daily after becoming a member and had only serched around a little as a visitor. Since Christmas/NewYears i am on here more than I should be ;)
I spent so much time reading older threads, ran through the galleries, read up on almost all the builds and just seen that this site is great with members, info, vendors, mods and admin(my suck up part here:). I Plan on sticking around unless Im run off and may even help out by supporting the site or becoming a vendor. i like to repay to a community like this for giving us a place to come thats not harsch, bashing or flaming lik other sites. I will be hunting a few missing parts so its ether ask around here or wait to find some parts here locally to get somethings finished up. |

If you see my pictures of the jambs you can tell what mods were done to get rid of the bulky latch in the door and on the jamb area.Handles are Neon,Intrepid,Prolwer style, inner latches are 94-01 Ram and so are the strikers. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...6&postcount=11 |

You mention pea green with a white top in another thread. Is this what you have in mind? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...2/IMG_0475.jpg |

The story as to why my truck sported green sealer/primer is because when I was building my 68 Nova I had told my son i was going to be green. I made an awesome deal with a painter buddy and he gave me 2 gallons of ice blue metallic paint and we added black SS Chevelle stripes........when I brought the car home and it wasnt green I got in real bad trouble.I vowed the truck would possibly be green so I primered it green for a while. |
