74 swb budget build

I guess we'll see what kind of trouble I can get into with this one. Plan is to do a 3 1/2"-5" drop for now and put some ralleys on it that I have in storage. Interior needs some a bench seat or some different buckets P/O put some seats out of somthing in it. they sit way to low and they don't move at all. For the $750.00 I paid for it you can't expect much. at least it's solid and drives. ( way better after I put a power steering pump and a water pump in it) This will be a slow build since wifey is using it as a daily driver and I've only had it for a week or so.

Lets see how this goes. Any suggestions will be concitered and anyone close that has parts let me know I can use any deals I can get right now.

Did a little work on the truck this weekend. While doing a brake job on it I managed to slip in the drop spindles I had left from my when I rebuilt the Burb's suspension. They ended up being a 3" drop.

Throw some big ass mud tires in the back and the KC lights over the cab and your rock-in LOL. A friend of mine just got a 86 Chvy LWB for $200.00. I help him get it started and has cold a/c for sitting for 2 years in a drive way.

I already have a set of rallys for it in storage. Just need to get some tires for them. The tires that are on them aren't the right size.

Re: 74 swb buget build

Not much progress yet. did a few little things like put a old deck in it so now it has tunes, changed all the locks, and cleaned up some of the misc. crap the P/O did. Now I'm workin on a flip kit and different seat and seatbelts (another one of the P/O's wonderful ideas.) don't know what the seats are out of but I need a pillow under my a$$ to see out the window.(and I'm 6' tall) So I know the wifey is havin a hard time even with a pillow. and the seat belt is a lap belt set up to go across like a shoulder belt. (I guess thats what you do when your tags are bad and you have warrents.) Well it didn't work cuz he got pulled over and the truck impounded which is how I got the truck. So more to come in the near future.:gmc2:

Still have to finish the tailgate and switch the hood with the one I have in storage(less damage) and paint it.

Lookin good man. Wrong section, but they (for some reason) dont have a projects and builds section in each year forum. Cant wait till you have flip kitted it. It'll look awesome. Love the flat army green.

Put the trim back on and paint it white inside the trim for that classic GM look!
The cheapest flip would by DJM itsAttachment 402614 just the spring perches and you use the
original spring plate and u-bolts check ebay under (73-87 flip kit)
probably need some shock extenders from DJM -$65 and the DJM calmax
shock go for $40 each!

Keep us updated!

Didn't you have another thread for this truck?

I still like the old steelies and hubcaps, even with the green.
