I just bought this truck over the weekend. It;s my first chevy truck.

250-6 4spd w granny gear supposed to be all original. I need to get the cab corners and misc floor patches done. I would like to get the head rebuilt with hardened valve seats so i dont have to use lead substitute everytime i get gas. Then figure out what I want to do with the bed. The seat belts nee to be updated. Passenger sunvisor to be added. Then maybe a trailer hitch and front disc conversion.

I guess what I am trying to say is that you will probably see me in here often.

I will take you up on that offer! from what the previous owner has told me and the fact the vin shows Tarrytown NJ origin, it has been local all its life.

Neat old truck! I have almost the same exact truck and I was trying to get some info on it. Mine is a 1968 k20, 4 x 4, same color green as yours, stepside with a long bed. It is all original and runs great. I will post some pictures in a couple days. Does anybody have any info on this truck. I have never seen another one execpt on line. Thanks for any replies.

Re: 1967 k20 stepside lwb

I havent made much progress since I bought the truck. I did find a 68 k20 basket case parts truck that I am going to use the exhaust manifold, passenger visor, side view mirrors and maybe the bench seat.

I might also be able to trade the remanents of the truck for welding I need done.

I am still looking for a 73-87 k20 parts truck for axles, steering, suspension and power disk brake parts.

I need to once again find info on what parts are needed to convert the truck with newer axles, power front disk brakes and hopefully still use the original 1967 ram power steering. who can point me in the right direction?

If you are not keeping it original anyways, you may want to upgrade to the newer steering box with variable ratio. I'm not sure when introduced, I think around 78 or so in the K20's. The ram assists are neat but not as trouble free and don't steer super easy from what i've been told. I have one on my 67 GMC 4x4 but that truck has never ran. If you have a true factory 4x4 ram assist, they are not easy to find and a member here would love to have yours if you do upgrade. His username is 67-72trucks and he's from Michigan.

Not sure on the axles but I know at least upgrading to the 71/72 disc brake equipped D44 HD is a common and simple one. Is there anything better about 73+?
