72 K10 front spring question

My 72 GMC has had the driver's front spring replaced. The guy who had it put in a three leaf spring when the original had a two leaf. It sits 2" higher on the driver's side. I talked to a parts guy last weekend and he said "just remove the extra leaf. It looks possible, is this guy full of it? Advice please.

Robby (interesting spelling, I used to go by Robby as a kid), anyway, I think that sounds right. I'm guessing you should be able to remove one leaf. You might or might not have to cut-down the centering pin in the leaf pack, depending on how it sits on the leaf pad and how high the pad sits above the axle. I think you'll have to tear it down and become more educated once it's apart. I've never done this but it sounds do-able. Let us know how it turns out.
