Mech or Electric Edelebrock Carb ????
 

I am going to be putting in my rebuilt engine this coming weekend with a rebuilt TH-350. The thing is that the engine isnt designed for all the emissions that this truck has. I am not going to be using the computer. My question is should I use a electric choke carb or manual choke carb?

I wouldn't even consider a manual choke. The electric ones are super easy to install/ maintain and they don't require you to pull a cable in the morning to start your truck!

Use an electric choke. I would not recommend a manual choke unless you are driving farm equipment.

The electric choke will make life easier.

Just to be different Ill tell ya my opinion, which is no choke. Even when fully open it restricks some air flow [very little though] and that takes away power, a big no-no. When I had a manual choke on my truck I had it wired fully open, 24-7.

383 stroker,10:1 compression,vortec heads, roller rockers,performer RPM intake, Demon 650 double pump carb, MSD ignition, headman headers, muncie four speed, 3.73 12 bolt rear.

Maybe in AZ you can do that, and be able start your engine up when it is cold, but if you live elsewhere in the uS, where it actually gets cold out, you will NOT get your engine started unless you have a choke of some kind, and it is fully shut....
Electric chokes rule!!!!!

I do live in AZ and your absolutly correct. I drive chokeless and its great here in the valley where the temp never gets below 50*. But when I take her up north she'll fight me every cold start-up. Get the eletronic choke. I just bought all the parts for around $80.
