72 Blazer w/ 77 Engine

Hi folks,

I'm trying to figure out how to get my 72 Blazer temperature gauge to work with a the sending unit in my 77 350 engine. I have headers so Ihave the sending unit on the block. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Use a sending unit from a 72

Sending unit from a 72 doesn't fit. The threading porting is much larger.

I read somewhere that the ohms on a 77 sending unit are different from a 72 and not even inline resisters would work.

Is the head not have the threaded port, I know you said you have headers but you should still be able to use the stock location on the head provided it is there. There are some threads I've seen on this site where the stock 72 sender was machined and threaded to fit vortex heads.

Find another hole to put it in! LOL I put mine in a thermostat housing with a sensor thread hole in it.

the hole in the head is too small, or too big?
