Hello, I've done this swap and if memory serves me rite, the only part you will need are big block towers.:chevy:

Just the towers and all the mounting brackets (PS/WP/ALT) need to be BBC ones. If your using the same trans then youll be fine. If going from a TH350 to a 400 then you need to move the trans mount and cut the drive shaft 5/8 in.

The stock TH350 probably won't last very long behind a 454. Step up to that TH400.

I have the exact same question. Im trying to do all my research before i jump into this. I have an 84 K10 with a 305 bolted to a 700R4 to the best of my knowledge i will just need to pull the small block motor mounts and bolt in the BBC mounts. I will also have to use the alternator, power steering, and starter from the BBC. what else will i need to do to the small block engine bay to stuff the 454 in it? any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: 69 motor swap

You will probably need to figure out a different fan shroud than the one for the 305 and a 4 core radiator would probably be required to keep the 454 with the automatic cooled.

If i do end up doing this swap it will be getting an alluminum radiator

The 700R4 is just like the TH350 mentioned earlier. Probably won't last long with a 454 putting all that torque through it.
