if i remember correctly you buff it and then maybe clear coat it? and then wax it

did you use clr too? Seems to really help remove all the rust...
once you're done and you wash it off good you could buff it and it likely will shine for a while. wax it for the shine to last longer. Or clear coat it to keep it shiny and save the patina just like it is now.... |
Re: Wetsanding surface rust (PATINA)...what to do after this to make it shiny?
our goal was to remove the patina lol clr helped a lil but not as much as wetsanding, there is still slight patina but majority is gone.
We are experimenting with different things (wax, rubbing compound then wax buffing with rubbing compound etc) I am doen wetsanding. Took about 1 full (slow) day!!! Used some commet on the whitewalls and they look great! Gonna try'n hit a cruise in this weekend!! Pictures to come! |

SOS pads (with the blue soap in them) really do a good job on whitewalls and white letters, even better than Comet.

Wow! I was very impressed with comet (with bleach in it).

Hit it with a high speed buffer, and heavy cut compound and keep it wet!
