Opinions on Value Please

5 Attachment(s)
I found this truck for sale and am looking for opinions as to value. It belongs to a middle aged lady and she inherited it from her late father who bought it new. I asked for a spid pic which she sent but it came out real blurry so she is supposed to resend. It has 150.00 miles but her Dad had the motor rebuilt in 2002 ( and I didn't ask for receipts yet) and there has only been 10 k miles put on since the rebuild. I thought this would make a cool summer daily driver for me. Seeing its small block would it have 3:54 or 4:10 gears from the factory.

Added Spid Pic. Its #4 below

It looks great in the pics. Hope you get your hands on it. I wish I could help with your value question. Trucks like this here in MS are all over the value scale. One man's treasure, etc.

It's got some nice goodies on it for that year and I have always liked that color.

2500 3/4 ton? I can't tell from th photos.

The great thing is that the selling price won't include any owner add ons that you may want to change. No $2000 set of wheels and tires that you don't like and no added frufru that you will have to take off to make it yours.

I'm so far off base on prices that I would be no help at all. The best I can do is say to check for similar trucks in the same condition on the usual places. Ebay, Craigslist, Hotrod Hotline and others. Oldride.com advertisers seem to think that their trucks are worth a premium http://www.oldride.com/classic_truck...rolet_c10.html

Oh goody, I was afraid of that. I guess it should be a 10mpg on the Highway truck?

One of the big attractions for me on this truck is the originality of it. I'd probably take the KC's off from the front bumper.

I really like original!

Is everything working, especially the A/C? It cost me close to a $1000 to get the A/C working on my 68 last spring.

Is there any rust?

I can't quite make out the plates but they do not look green so I am assuming you found this south of home.

$5000- 6000 in the US and $7500 in Canada.

The lady says its rust free and I believe her. The first thing I asked was if the A/C works and she said no and that will factor into my offer. Yes its in the Southern USA.

It looks like a solid un messed with truck!

If the price is right, I wouldn't think twice about low gears. Since getting them swapped is only in the neighborhood of 500 bucks? On a 4x2 that to me is a non issue - providing there is room in the price to fix things like that to your taste.

I bought a compressor, dryer and a P134A POA valve, had a local shop do the work and I had it all working for around $850. I hope this helps with your decision.

It's worth $10,000.00 if this is the truck you want, it looks very nice for the age.

If you end up with this truck and don't want the KC's, give me a call.

I think it is!

Missed that is the first photos.......

I would ask about the rear suspension as some would have leafs. Unless there is something about a Longhorn only having coils.

Re: Opinions on Value Please

I posted this on the main board and see it was moved and I don't know where to. I guess a broke a rule asking what I thought the truck the worth. I thought the rule was you couldn't ask what it was worth if you wanted to sell it. I thought the site was to help out and inform and share ideas and all I wanted was some opinions on value which is info. I can't even see which administrator moved the thread. I guess there is no discretion on this site as it seems the rules are hard and fast.
