HD drums?

Anyone have them installed? If so, how well do they work?

Could you be more specific?

Yes, I assumed everyone could read my mind. My bad on the lack of detail.
I'm asking about HD drums for the rear of a 1970 C-10. I'm considering disk in the rear, but if the HD drums will work just as well...then why not.

I never heard of hd drums if your talking about going to a bigger size drums its not going to do much. The rear brakes only do like 20 or 30 percent of total braking. If your looking to make it stop better bigger front brakes are the key the rears ain't going to do much if upgraded.

Re: HD drums?

From what I've heard and read about, the HD drums will benefit if you haul heavier loads or do a lot of towing. Early Classic sells a complete kit, and according to their website, they provide a 28% increase in stopping power, but I agree with andrewmp6. If it's a daily driver, just use quality components for a rebuild and focus on the front. If your looking into a rear upgrade for performance driving, CPP and others offer rear disc conversions for a little more than the HD drums. Keep in mind that a prop valve is needed if you go that direction. I ditched the rear drums in favor of a Wilwood set-up, but I'm looking to get some track time.
