1966 body on a 1981 4x4 3/4 Ton Long Bed
Hello All!
I know there are many discussions out there on this subject and I have spent hours looking and reading through different threads.... I would like to mount my 66 cab, fenders, hood, rad support to my other 1981 frame, with all of its running gear. I will be building a flat bed so I am not as worried about where the rear bed lines up. What I need some advise on is how/where to mount the cab and radiator supports. Can I use the original mounts on the 81 and just do a body lift?? Will every thing on the front line up if I do that? If not, does anyone know where I should move the mount to???? I am sure there is already a thread on this, if there is can someone point me to it I will do some more homework on my own. Thanks in advance for your help. |

When Dill did my radiator support I torched off the front 8 inches of 60s frame and lined it all up with the existing frame and spliced it together. Kept the bumper mounts that way too

If you are asking me, no I did not cut any from the '74 frame I used.
