Next Step
So we put in the USA-230 system with the kick panel speakers. Unit sounds OK, if a little hollow? We are definitely missing something in the low end. What should our next step be? Would a sub work in the old factory speaker hole in the dash? Sub under the seat? Would like to stay in the "do it yourself, cheaply" area.

Re: Next Step
Do it yourself cheap would be a powered bass tube. Easy to install, no real hardware, just input/power/ground and it will add some bottom end real nice.
I'm not a huge fan of bass tubes, but a few friends with trucks (like my off road buddies) love them because you can pull them out easy enough. |
Re: Next Step
Bass tubes are good if you want an immediate solution. I installed them and they just seem to work fine.

Re: Next Step
I too am not a big fan of them...but, my uncle had an 8" tube in his toyota ex-cab and it fit his needs just fine. Actually, it sounded pretty good for what it was.

Re: Next Step
Yeah ChevyNewb. Get a decent bass tube because things which are worth having are worth waiting for. :D :)
