Nice unit! This is cable actuated throttle plate too. Seems to have better response than the newer drive by wire units. Just FYI the stock rating would be 300 hp, not 325 but I'm sure any tune will get you over 325. Cam tune headers and you're looking at 425 or more. Hope this helps.

just fyi sir according to chevrolet the engine DOES make 325 horse power 01 was the first year for the aluminum heads. FACTORY rated at 325 horse power. we build these engines with a cam, headers and a tune they make 500-550 horse all day. thanks. the 5.3 makes 300 horse from the factory.

Do you know if this engine would be a bolt in replacment for a 2000 K2500 vin U truck. If I swap intake, accy. ect. and just use the long block? What is shipping to a business address at 47882? Would you sell just the engine or have another one that you would sell the engine only?

this one is not a direct bolt in yours has the cast iron heads and you have the long crankshaft. 1999 and 2000 had a .400 longer crank in them. i will let you know if i get in a bare replacement engine.:gmc2:

What about a 5.3L/4L60 with accessories and everything to do a conversion on my 86 C10? How much plus freight to Houston?

I have '01 literature specific to HD's and published values are 300hp/360tq. Internet searches may say 300-325hp but it varied depending on application. for example, yukons were rated at 325. An 01 HD rating from Chevrolet/GMC is 300. The 5.3 in that year is 285hp in the pickups. Just trying to be informative here.

I know when I was looking up engines it kept showing 2001 as a different one then 2000 but was hoping they would interchange if I had everything. Thanks for the information.

i have reserached the subject as well. i will stick to my guns on this on. chevy only made one lq4 that year. the gm part number for the heads, pistons, camshaft and every part on this engine is the same across the board.yukons and hd trucks had the exact same engine that year. thanks dude.;)

I'd be interested in this minus trans. Already have 4l80e installed. Maybe you have motor only packages?
