Nv4500 question

I am working on 6bt nv4500 swap into a 63. I was wondering if anyone knew what I would need to make the electronic speedo drive mechanical so I can us the factory speedo.

pretty sure dakota digital has some conversion boxes to change an electronic signal to cable driven.

No I don't have a build thread started yet. Haven't had much time until now. Dakota gauges is a good site. I think I found what I need from there. Thanks for the help

If your NV4500 has an electric VSS sensor in it, remove it. Get a mechanical speedo drive assembly from a 727 trans and it should fit in there. PATC is them used and new with different tooth count to adjust for taller tires and different gear ratios.

Do you have to take apart the trans to change it?

I do not believe so. The mechanical drive should go right in there. I can't say for sure as I haven't personally done it on a NV4500. But it has worked for a couple guys I know. They had a dodge trans too, not a chevy one. If they are different in this area, IDK for sure.

I just bought this, but my truck isn't back together yet. I hope it works out as planned

I wish I had found this before I bought the Dakota cable drive, it was way more then I wanted to spend.
