Project: Lorraine 69 GMC LWB Dropmember LS1/T56

Grab a helmet and strap yourself in for the slowest and most backasswards build known to mankind...

This all starts with a text message with a CL link for a $700 truck about an hour away from home and my most dreaded words "hey you should buy this". I don't really give it a lot of thought but the truck but it kinda stays in the back of my mind for a few weeks. I finally break down and give the guy a call and set up a meeting. Long story short the truck is in typical North Carolina shape, rockers and cab supports are trash, cab corners are decent the rust from the rockers have made its way into the floor pans but nothing to wild. The only true bad spots are where the A pillar meets the floor. This is my first build so I'm definitely got a lot to learn. I'm excited some days others it throws me into a full on rage but I've been in love with 67-72 GMC's since I was a kid. So here we go... Try not to laugh to much. :ito:

I had originally planed to hopefully get the 250 running fix the brakes clean it up,replace a few things Bumpers Ect.. But as soon as it came off the trailer the next morning any plans I thought I had and any budget I was thinking went out the window. More pictures incoming!

I spent the day cleaning the thing up and my mind started to run. Trying to figure out how much of a drop I wanted to do and all that fun jazz this went on for a week or so until i got to really looking at the shape the cab was in and giving up on the straight 6. My buddy comes up to me and said he was looking to get rid of his Camaro and made me a smoking offer on more or less every bit of running gear I needed motor/trans,rearend,harness the whole 9. That started my downfall. A few months went by and I really couldn't make up my mind on a drop and I had wanted to bag a truck since I was 15 so I finally gave in and gave Dave a call at Porterbuilt and that was that. Started tearing the truck down and hoped for the best.

After taking off about 6 rebel flag stickers I swore I was going to lose my mind. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...3/IMG_3780.jpg

Finally got the anchor pulled out and didn't make as big of a mess as I thought I would.. I'm actually quite proud of myself.

We pushed it outside and hit it with the pressure washer a few good times and then I didn't touch it for a month or so

Started palying the the cab a little. Being able to set the new rockers on it kinda gave me a little more motivation.

The active plan is to do a custom setup on the rear. I really need to get the cab off and actually get to work on it. I'm so ADHD that I just bounce around from spot to spot on the truck. Planning on running Accuair, boxing the front and rear of the frame, fully shaved firewall. I can envision the truck in my head so clearly. Longbed and all.

My friends hate me basically

This all bring us up to where I'm at today. Started on mocking up the notch on the rear. I have no clue how to weld so my buddy's helping me out but we only get to work on it a little bit at a time cause I'm not the only project going on in the shop. I mainly blame this dodge

Didn't really make much progress today.. Made a big mess and pulled the 350 out of my buddies square in preparation for his LS swap. Also dug out my rearend and started to cut all the F Body suspension brackets for my 4 Link. Heading back in the A.M. to finish it up
