Using 60-66 battery tray as auxiliary driver side??

Anyone try using a 60-66 tray on the driver's side of a 67-72? They look damn near the same as the so called "auxiliary" trays. They seem to be flat and have forward facing bolt holes. Of course the battery hold down is different :( but it's not a deal killer.

just wondering

Nobody? Not even hearing about someone trying it before? :(

Seems Brother's is the only company selling the auxiliary driver trays, but they are always on back order. I've called a couple times over 6 months and still nothing. At least the wait is for something made locally and not something coming from Taiwan.

. . . .

I bought a real nice ORIGINAL auxiliary battery tray, four years ago, for $110.

I posted a wanted-to-buy ad on this website and ended up having TWO to choose from.

. . . .

I haven't bought one yet, wondering if anyone else has tried. There's gotta be some folks with both generation trucks. I know my '85 won't work.

I'll do a WTB ad if the 60-66 stuff doesn't come close. Would be nice though to buy a new one over waiting/ hoping for a good used 67-72.

Lol, any way you can put it in your '67 and see if it fits? Or at least what looks like it needs to fit?

There's one of these in great shape other than a folded flange from a front end collision. I just might pick it up for a board sale, I didn't think they'd bring over 40 bucks.

Mine is installed on my 70 now, but I don't have any pictures of it yet.
